1.7 million applicants are expected to sit for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which will take place across the country from May 6 to May 16.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced that the exam would be held for 1,761,338 students who successfully enrolled for the exam at 755 computer-based testing centers.
Dr Fabian Benjamin, the JAMB’s Head of Media, stated in Abuja that the board has taken all necessary steps to ensure a smooth test.
According to Fabian, all applicants will be checked into the test venue using the Biometric Verification Machine (BVM), which also serves as an attendance log in accordance with the Board’s policies.
He went on to say that the restriction on prohibited materials was still in effect, and that candidates should be careful not to break the law since violators of the JAMB code of conduct would face severe penalties.
Flash drives, smart watches, calculators, recorders, mobile phones, spy reading glasses, and jewelry are among the prohibited objects in the examination hall, according to Benjamin.
