The Network Against Corruption and Trafficking Foundation (NACAT) has taken legal action against the Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Folashodun Shonubi, and Deputy Governor Edward Adamu. The group claims that Shonubi and Adamu failed to declare their assets to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) as required.
The lawsuit, lodged by NACAT through Festus Keyamo Chambers, also involves the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau. NACAT is asserting their case under Section 1(1) and (2) of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, 2011. The case alleges the non-disclosure of interests in several companies by the two CBN officials. The court has yet to schedule a hearing date for the matter.
