Alhaji Musa Saidu, an Arewa leader in the south, has urged President Bola Tinubu and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, to take proactive steps to prevent a potential political crisis in Rivers State.
Speaking to newsmen, Saidu emphasized that any crisis in the state could deter investors, adversely affecting the country’s economy, particularly as Rivers State plays a crucial role in Nigeria’s energy sector.
Saidu called for the federal government’s intervention to maintain peace, expressing concerns about the tension in the state and its potential spillover effect across the Niger Delta region.
He urged President Tinubu to demonstrate that he is not involved in the political developments by addressing the situation and ensuring stability. Saidu further called for the resignation or removal of Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, to avert a crisis and preserve the peace achieved in Rivers State.
