The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announces the promotion of 5,196 staff members across the country. In its daily bulletin, Director of Publicity and Voter Education, Mrs Adenike Tadese, reveals the promotions resulting from the 2023 examination and evaluation, reflecting INEC’s commitment to staff welfare and development.

The breakdown includes the elevation of 55 deputy directors to directors and 54 assistant directors to deputy directors. Additionally, 338 officers on GL 14 were promoted to Assistant directors on GL 15, while the majority of the promotions impacted 4,749 officers between GL 7 and 13.

Concurrently, four directors are directed to proceed on terminal leave, adhering to a Federal Government directive issued on July 27, 2023, affecting directors with eight years or more of service. Clinical Officers in the medical cadre are exempt from this retirement policy, as clarified in a September 7 circular.
