Wang Yi, China’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, is set to visit Egypt, Tunisia, Togo, and Côte d’Ivoire from January 13 to January 18, marking the 34th consecutive year of Chinese foreign ministers choosing Africa as their first overseas destination.
The visit aims to deepen China-Africa relations, following President Xi Jinping’s proposals for supporting Africa’s industrialization, agricultural modernization, and talent development.
The trip aligns with preparations for the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and emphasizes China’s commitment to traditional friendship and collaboration with its African partners.
