The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Abba Yusuf as the duly elected governor of Kano State, setting aside the rulings of the Court of Appeal and the election petitions tribunal.
The apex court’s decision overturns the nullification of Yusuf’s victory in the March 18, 2023 governorship poll.
The judgment, delivered by Justice John Okor, resolves the appeal filed by Governor Abba Yusuf and NNPP against the earlier judgments that affirmed his removal.
The Supreme Court also recently upheld the election of Bala Mohammed as the duly elected governor of Bauchi State.
