The Rivers State Government has lambasted the All Progressives Congress for asking the State House of Assembly to commence impeachment process against Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joseph Johnson, in a statement explained that the 27 lawmakers at the State House of Assembly lack the uprightness to impeach the governor.
Johnson warned the APC lawmakers, who are loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, against embarking on such a venture, stressing that any attempt to impeach the governor will be resisted by the people of the state.
Recall that the APC Caretaker Committee Chairman in the state, Tony Okocha, had called on the State Assembly to commence impeachment process against the governor, whom he said, had disregarded the sensibility of President Bola Tinubu, who waded in to resolve the lingering crisis in the state.
