
The governor revealed that these payments were owed the academic, non-academic, and casual staff of the Enugu State College of Education, Technical, Enugu, before his administration.
A breakdown of the approval comprises eight-month salary arrears of 299 academic staff and non-academic staff of ESCET valued at 384million naira, salary arrears of part-time lecturers valued at 69.2million naira, and salary arrears of casual staff valued at 13.8million naira, all summed up to over 467million naira.
Governor Mbah explained that the approval is part of his promise to transform the state’s education sector.
Meanwhile, the state government had allocated over 158billion naira, representing 33 percent of the state’s 2024 budget for the education sector.
