The 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State have welcomed new Caretaker Committee Chairmen, who have assumed duties and dissolved all standing committees in their respective councils.

The chairmen, sworn in by Governor Siminalayi Fubara, pledged to prioritize human capital development, economic empowerment, and employment generation.

They also vowed to pay outstanding salaries owed to their predecessors and embark on infrastructure development to reduce hunger and poverty.

The chairmen, including Evans Bipi of Ogu/Bolo LGA, Brain Gokpa of Eleme LGA, and Marvin Yorbana of Khana LGA, promised to run inclusive administrations, empower young people, women, and the elderly, and ensure security and discipline in their respective areas.

They dissolved all task forces and standing committees, and urged their members to work together to build their LGAs.
