The National Secretary of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday, has dismissed claims of an approved change to the party’s logo, flag, and constitution by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as futile.

Oginni accused Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his Kwankwasia Movement of attempting to hijack the NNPP with the help of some INEC officials. He assured that this plan will not succeed, emphasizing that the party remains committed to legal processes.

“We want to inform Nigerians that the NNPP, founded 22 years ago by Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam, is a law-abiding party,” Oginni stated. He added that the party has contested the illegal convention where the logo change was proposed, and he is confident the judiciary will act justly.

Condemning the actions of INEC under Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, Oginni urged Kwankwaso and his followers to establish their own party instead of attempting to take over the NNPP’s identity. He called on all NNPP members and democracy advocates to stay calm and trust the judiciary to resolve the matter promptly.
