Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian declared on Wednesday that Iran is “not looking for war” but would deliver a stronger response if Israel retaliates for the recent missile attacks. Speaking at a joint press conference in Doha with Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Pezeshkian stated, “If Israel wants to react, we will have a stronger response. This is what the Islamic Republic is committed to.”
The statement follows Iran’s launch of approximately 200 missiles, including hypersonic weapons, towards Israel. While Israel intercepted most of the missiles, two civilians were slightly wounded by shrapnel, and one school building sustained damage. The Israeli military reported that some missiles landed on air force bases but caused no major harm.
Pezeshkian accused Israel of provoking instability in the region, while Sheikh Tamim criticized Israeli actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon and called for a ceasefire amid escalating violence in Gaza.
