The Nigerian Army conducted a series of successful operations across the country, rescuing hostages and dismantling terrorist hideouts. Troops in the South-East raided an IPOB/ESN hideout in the Enugwu Umuonyia community of Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State. After engaging the terrorists in a firefight, they rescued a kidnapped hostage and recovered a cache of arms, including live ammunition, pump-action guns, and vehicles.
In the North, troops in Kebbi State executed a daring operation, rescuing eight hostages after an intense firefight with kidnappers. Similarly, 15 Boko Haram fighters and their families surrendered to the Army in Borno, following sustained military pressure. The Army also intercepted logistics suppliers for Boko Haram in Borno, recovering large quantities of materials used to produce Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
These operations, aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, reflect the Army’s ongoing efforts to secure the nation and protect its citizens.
