Security has been heightened around Blantyre Street and adjoining areas in Wuse 2, Abuja, as dignitaries arrive at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas are among the top officials expected at the meeting, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

Access to the area has been heavily restricted, with limited clearance granted to journalists covering the opening session. Vehicular and human movements are under tight control as security operatives maintain order.

Those already present include Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, members of the APC’s National Working Committee (NWC), the Forum of State Chairmen, former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari, and former Kebbi State Governor and Minister of Budget and National Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.

The meeting comes as President Tinubu seeks to solidify party unity and reinforce confidence in the APC’s leadership, following recent party caucus discussions that underscored the administration’s priorities.
