The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has called on Nigerians to comply with traffic laws to curb the high rate of road crashes and fatalities.
FRSC spokesman Olusegun Ogungbemide, speaking Thursday in Abuja, blamed reckless driving, overloading, and disregard for regulations for the alarming casualty figures. He stressed that road safety requires public cooperation, pointing to advanced nations where strict enforcement and compliance have led to safer roads.
“The laws exist for a reason,” he said, urging Nigerians to follow traffic rules and support FRSC efforts to prevent needless deaths.
