The charge of alleged sexual abuse and molestation of Deeper Life High School Uyo student Don-Davies Archibong by some senior students and teachers in the school has been dismissed by a High Court in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.
This came after the two parties reached an agreement, which was upheld by the court
The criminal charge had been struck out by the terms of the settlement, according to the presiding Judge, Justice Ntong Ntong, who also noted that the consent judgment is fina
The ruling came in a case involving plaintiff Don-Davis Archibong and defendants Registered Trustees of Deeper Christian Life Ministry and eight others.”All the parties have reconciled for the sake of God and the welfare of the plaintiff, who is a minor,” plaintiff’s counsel, Barrister C.N. Nweke, Junior, told the Court
“Parties have settled amicably and have signed the terms of settlement dated 21st March, 2022,” said Taiwo Kupolati, counsel to the defendants and Senior Advocate of Nigeria
He expressed gratitude to Justice Ntong for his actions in ensuring the safety of the child involved in the case
Mrs Ndidi Solomon, the Principal of Deeper Life High School in Uyo, was also present and thanked “God for using Justice Ntong to bring the case to a joyful end.”
