Seven people were reportedly killed early Monday morning, less than 24 hours after the suspected killers of Anambra State lawmaker Hon Okechukwu Okoye threatened to kill more people.

A mother and four of her children were among those killed in Isulo, Orumba North local government area of the state, according to sources.

Another person was said to have been killed in the state’s Idemili North local government area at Abatete, and another in the Nanka Orumba North local government area.

On May 15, 2022, he and his driver were kidnapped in Aguata, Aguata II State Constituency.

The lawmaker was later beheaded, and his head was discovered on Saturday in Nnobi, in the state’s Idemili South Council Area.

On Monday, the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company’s district office in Ogidi, as well as a magistrate court and the headquarters of Idemili North Local Government Area, were attacked.

The Anambra State Police Command had yet to confirm the news, with its spokesman, Ikenga Tochukwu, saying that details of the incidents were still sketchy.
