President Muhammadu Buhari will address the nation live on Sunday at 7:00 a.m.

Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information, disclosed this during a Thursday morning briefing at a radio station in Abuja, where he detailed activities for this year’s celebration.

He stated that the broadcast will focus on the celebration of Democracy Day on June 12, 2022.

Some of the activities planned for the Democracy Day celebration, according to the minister, include a public lecture at the National Mosque on Friday and Jumat prayers on the same date and location.

This will be followed by the President’s address and a church service at the National Christian Centre at 3 p.m. on Sunday, he says.

On Monday morning, there will also be a Democracy Day parade at Eagle Square in Abuja.

The minister did not say whether Monday will be declared a public holiday because Democracy Day falls on a Sunday this year. Instead, he stated that only the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, could make such an announcement.

He assured that all events would be held and that there would be no security breaches.
