On Thursday, a Lagos-based human rights lawyer, Malcom Omoirhobo, caused a commotion in the courtroom when he arrived dressed as “Olokun,” the god of rivers, to attend court proceedings. The lawyer stated that he dressed in that manner to court in order to exercise his fundamental human rights following the Supreme Court’s decision that allowed all Nigerians to express their religious beliefs and wear hijab in schools and public places.
