Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), has married Nana Hadiza, President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter.
A source confirmed that the wedding took place on Friday at the villa in a private Nikkai ceremony.
Nana Hadiza, 41, is Buhari’s third daughter from his first marriage to Safinatu.
Before their divorce, Hadiza was married to Abdulrahman Mamman Kurfi, with whom she had six children.
With this marriage, Hadiza becomes the minister’s third wife, following Aisha and Fatima.
Meanwhile, Malami’s spokesperson, Umar Gwandu, did not respond to a request for comment on the wedding.
Malami was appointed as AGF and Justice Minister after President Buhari was elected in 2015; he was re-appointed on August 21, 2019.
On April 28, the minister declared his intention to run for Kebbi governor on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform in the 2023 elections, and on May 11, he submitted his N50 million nomination form.
However, Malami announced his decision to withdraw from the election after the president asked ministers who wanted to run for office to resign in accordance with Section 84 of the Electoral Act 2022.
