Some part of the popular Ariaria International Market in Aba, Abia State was on Thursday gutted by fire.
NNH gathered that some traders were able to suppress the fire before it could consume the entire market.
Emergency services are currently on the ground, assessing the cause of the incident.
Also known as the ‘China of Africa’, Ariaria International Market is known for selling shoemaking and leather works. It is arguably one of the largest markets in West Africa with an estimated two million traders.
