Abiodun Alabi, Commissioner of Police in Lagos State has directed all area commanders and Divisional Police Officers in the state to beef up security in their domains.
This comes after the suspension of the Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya better known as MC Oluomo, by the national body of the transport union.
The state police boss in n interview with newsmen on Thursday said a directive has been given on the deployment and patrol of all motor parks across the country. He assured Lagos residents of adequate security of life and property.
Recall that NURTW in a letter signed by its General Secretary, Kabiru Yau said Oluomo was suspended based on acts of insubordination and gross misconduct against the national leadership of the organization.
The letter directed MC Oluomo to hand over all union properties in his care to the state secretary and hand over the leadership to his deputy.
