In a statement released by Senator Suleiman Abdu Kwari, the former representative of Kaduna North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, he expressed his gratitude to his supporters and campaign team following the results of the recent elections held on February 25th, 2023.
Despite close to 200,000 voters believing in his ability to move the district forward in the 10th National Assembly, Senator Kwari ultimately lost the election to a new candidate who garnered the support of close to 250,000 voters.
Senator Kwari, who previously served as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes, urged his supporters to give glory to God for the outcome and to extend the hand of friendship to those on the other side of the political spectrum.
He emphasized the importance of unity in Kaduna State in order to continue the progress made by the outgoing administration.
Moving forward, Senator Kwari stated his focus will be on completing outstanding deliverables set forth in the 9th Senate Legislative Anti-Corruption Strategy 2022, including the passage of the Witness Protection Bill and the Whistleblower Bill.
He congratulated President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory and encouraged those dissatisfied with the election results to seek recourse through the judiciary.
