Popular Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, who is also known as Portable, has been granted bail by a Magistrate Court in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
According to a report by The Nation, the Ogun Police Command arraigned the singer on Monday on five-count charges of assault.
Portable, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The court presided over by Chief Magistrate A.S Shoneye granted him bail on the grounds that the offences are bailable.
The singer’s counsel applied for bail, and the presiding judge granted him bail with a bail bond of N300,000 and two sureties who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
In another case of assault and stealing, Portable was also granted bail to the tune of N500,000 with two sureties.
The court ordered that the defendant be transferred to the Ilaro correctional centre pending the time his bail requirements are met.
The case has been adjourned to April 26 for trial to commence.
