Labour Party Chairman, Nathaniel Ochoche, has been confirmed dead after being ambushed and murdered by armed Fulani militia in Ankpali village, Edikwu District, Apa Local Government Area of Benue state.

Mr. Ochoche was among four mourners killed over the weekend in the ambush, which also left several others injured and missing.

In a statement by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Tersoo Orbunde, the deceased was described as an ardent member of the Labour Party who worked tirelessly for the growth of his community, constituency, and country.

The Benue State Executive committee of the Labour Party has condemned the attacks and called on the Federal and state governments, and all relevant authorities to protect the lives and properties of the people and stop the unwarranted killings by suspected criminal Fulani herdsmen.
