In a devastating turn of events on Saturday, May 27, 2023, a landlord in Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada, fatally shot a young engaged couple residing in his building following an apparent housing dispute.

The victims, identified as Carissa MacDonald and Aaron Stone, were tragically killed outside their residence.

Despite swift police response, the couple had already succumbed to their injuries upon arrival at the scene.

According to Detective Sergeant Steve Berezuik, who is leading the investigation, MacDonald and Stone were attempting to flee the premises when they were shot by the 57-year-old landlord.

Describing the couple as “truly innocent victims,” Berezuik expressed deep sorrow over the incident.

The identity of the landlord has not been disclosed, but authorities revealed that he barricaded himself inside the residence upon police arrival, armed with multiple firearms registered under his name.
