President Bola Tinubu is currently engaged in a significant discussion with members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
This marks the first meeting between the President and the governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) since his inauguration.
Among those attending the meeting are prominent governors such as Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Hope Uzodinma of Imo, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, Umar Namadi of Jigawa, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, Yahaya Bello of Kogi, Professor Babagana Zulum of Borno, and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe.
Other attendees include Uba Sani of Kaduna, Dikko Radda of Katsina, Father Hyacinth Alia of Benue, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Umar Bago of Niger, Aliyu Ahmed of Sokoto, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi, and Bassey Otu of Cross River.
Notably absent from the meeting were Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Biodun Oyebanji, and Dr. Nasir Idris of Kebbi, all of whom are APC governors.
Also present in the meeting were Tijjani Umar, the Permanent Secretary of the State House, and Nuhu Ribadu, former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
