The Abia State Police Command has vowed to fish out those behind the killing of soldiers at a military checkpoint at Obikabia junction, Ogbor Hill, in Aba.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, made this known in Umuahia during an expanded meeting of the State Security Council and the newly inaugurated members of the Abia Security Advisory Council.

Onwuemelie, who described the incident as unfortunate and condemnable, however, urged residents of the state to go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestation.

The CP said the Council will continue to engage stakeholders and put measures in place to enhance the capacity of various security agencies to deliver on their mandate.

For his part, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, retired Commander Macdonald Uba, said he is pained by the way the soldiers were killed, vowing that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
