The Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zone 2 Command, Lagos, AIG Fayoade M. Adegoke, has formed a six-member panel to investigate a viral video alleging unlawful detention at Maroko Police Station. The video claims a woman was held in a cell alongside men and minors.
The panel, led by DCP Ajao S. Adewale, includes officers, media representatives, a human rights activist, and a lawyer. The formal inauguration will take place on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Lagos. This move is part of the police’s commitment to upholding human rights and addressing gender-related issues.
