Nigerian Artist Olubankole Wellington better known as Banky W has declared his intention to represent the people of Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
In a video shared via his official Twitter handle on Friday, the musician stated that despite losing out at the polls in 2019, he has devoted the last few years to community service in his constituency either through the Lekki Food Bank, the Waterbrook or through the Banky Wellington Organization.
He stated that Nigerians can no longer settle for candidates who feel entitled to their place in government. He noted that “we need candidates who will earn and treasure their right to serve”.
According to him, the much needed reform will only happen when people of like minds who have the best interest at heart are in government.
The musician stated that he will run under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
