The Nigerian Presidency responded to the terrorist attack on the Kuje Prisons by stating that President Muhammadu Buhari’s official duties for the country will not be hampered by the terrorists’ actions.

This was stated by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in response to the suggestion that the President cancel his trip to Dakar, Senegal, yesterday in order to attend the International Development Association (IDA) for Africa Summit on Thursday.

Adesina, who moderated the ministers’ briefing at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, stated that the president should travel to Senegal to attend an international conference for presidents and heads of state.

Never give in to terrorist intimidation. When terrorists begin to obstruct your actions, we may as well give up and accept defeat.

The President should proceed. Yes, it is a requirement of international law. Mallam Garba Shehu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, previously stated that the President will travel from Abuja to Dakar on Wednesday to attend the IDA Summit and return on Thursday.
