President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday met with members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum led by Chairman of the Forum, Gov. Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State.

Nigeria News House (NNH) gathered that the meeting which took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja centred on the forthcoming national convention of the party scheduled for Saturday, March 26, 2022, in Abuja.

Delegates at the convention will elect new leaders that will pilot the affairs of the party.

Top candidates for national chairmanship position include Two former Nasarawa State Governors and current senators, Abdullahi Adamu and Tanko Al-Makura; former Benue State governor and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Special Duties, Senator George Akume; a former Zamfara State governor, Abdulaziz Yari.

Others include Turakin Ilorin, Mallam Saliu Mustapha; Senator Sani Mohammed Musa; a former Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bawa Bwari; and Mohammed Etsu.
