Kano’s Judicial Service Commission has taken disciplinary actions against three magistrates and a registrar of the Kano High Court over misconduct, including a magistrate caught attempting to steal funds from a frozen bank account.
Chief Magistrate Talatu Makama was found guilty of misconduct and recalled from the bench, effective immediately.
Senior Magistrate Rabi Abdulkadir was indicted for judicial recklessness and relieved of judicial duties for a year.
Senior Registrar Abdu Nasir received a strong warning and had his promotion deferred for one year.
Chief Magistrate Tijjani Saleh-Minjibir was also recalled from judicial duties for a year.
The commission’s actions aim to maintain the integrity and accountability of the judicial system and uphold public confidence.
