The Emir of Zuru, General Muhammad Sani Sami (Rtd), has cautioned politicians against sidelining the Zuru Emirate, warning that those who do so may face voters’ ire in the 2027 general election.

During a visit by Kebbi State’s First Lady, Zainab Nasir Idris, to his palace in Zuru Town, the Emir lauded her as a “blessing” to Zuru’s women and the broader community. He praised her initiatives, which complement Governor Nasir Idris’s administration in driving development across the state.

The Emir highlighted the First Lady’s efforts to uplift women through agricultural empowerment programs, offering resources such as rice seedlings, fertilizers, and pesticides to boost productivity.

Commending Governor Idris, the Emir noted strides in security, particularly in Kebbi South, which have allowed farmers to return to their fields safely. He also applauded infrastructural projects, including the Koko-Dabai road rehabilitation.

The Emir pledged his political backing for the Governor’s administration, expressing optimism for continued leadership beyond 2027.

Zainab Nasir Idris, honored with the traditional title of Jagaban Matan Zuru, thanked the Emir for his support, emphasizing her commitment to enhancing the lives of Kebbi’s women and promoting stability in the region.
