LAGOS POLICE BUST FAKE CAC REGISTRATION CENTER

Hundreds of fraudulent registrations have been discovered.

 

The Lagos State Police Command arrested five suspected fake Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) employees in Ikeja’s Alausa Secretariat area.

The Command Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated in a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP, that

“Following a tip-off, painstaking background check and verification, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have busted a fake Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) centre in Jobi Fele Way, Alausa Business District, Alausa, Ikeja.”

According to the statement, “Five suspects manning the center were equally arrested for forgery and impersonating CAC officials. Those arrested include Gloria Ukaegbu aged 28, Omolere Kayode aged 30, Taiwo Ajayii aged 34, Nwachukwu Brenda aged 27 and Oluwatomisin Adebisi aged 25.”

The operatives were led by the Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, and recovered several forged CAC documents, as well as a Toyota Sienna and a Toyota Matrix used as makeshift offices for their nefarious transactions.

According to preliminary investigations, the syndicate has defrauded hundreds of people by using forged CAC registrations.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, fdc, has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, Panti, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
