Petrol prices have finally risen above N165 per litre in all regions of the country.

Although petrol marketers claimed that the Federal Government approved the price increase, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has yet to respond.

On Tuesday morning, news men attempted to obtain confirmation from the NMDPRA, but the agency’s spokesman, Mr Apollo Kimchi, did not respond to inquiries.

According to the regional price list, the rate in the south west, south south, and southeast regions increased from N165 to N179 per litre as of Tuesday.

The price was raised to N184 in the north west and N189 in the north east, a N24 increase in the new adjustment.

In the north central region, petrol will now cost N179. Although the product will cost N169 in Lagos, marketers expect it to cost N174 in Abuja.

The ex-depot price in the Lagos axis has also been raised from N148.17 to a range of N160 and 162.

Depots in Warri/Ogbarra have had their rates reduced to N162-N165, while those in Port Harcourt will sell for N165-167.
