Germany has launched its new point-based immigration pathway called Opportunity Card.

This was announced in a statement on the German government website, saying the card would allow candidates from countries who are not part of the European Union to migrate into Germany without a job offer or Family Sponsorship.

German Interior Minister, Nancy Faeser, revealed on Saturday that the new visa scheme was part of the country’s aim to address acute shortage of skilled labour in the country.

Faeser said the government is ensuring that workers and skilled workers that the country’s economy urgently needed for years can gain entry easily.
