In Ondo, Nigeria, gunmen kidnapped a well-known Nigerian pastor and his son. Unknown gunmen kidnapped a pastor, Venerable Olu Obanla, in Ondo State, causing widespread panic. The Christian cleric and his son were reportedly abducted on Saturday on Ifon-Okeluse Road in the state’s Ose Local Government Area.
The victims were said to be driving down the road when the hoodlums approached them and dragged them into the bush to an unknown location. According to a source, shortly after the abduction, the bandits contacted the family and demanded N10 million in exchange for the victims’ release. The family was unable to obtain the funds because the abductors refused to accept N1 million. A state command spokeswoman, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident and said the command’s detectives were working to save the victims.
