Unknown gunmen attack Edo Train Station and kidnap a large number of passengers.
Individuals suspected of being armed with firearms attacked a train station in Igueben, Edo State. As a result, an undetermined number of passengers have been abducted. The Edo state police command confirmed that a group of gunmen armed with AK-47 rifles stormed the train station around 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 7th.
The gunmen fired randomly and kidnapped an unknown number of passengers who were waiting to board the train to Warri.
According to the Edo State Police Command, the Area Commander Irrua, the DPO of Igueben Division, and other officers have visited the crime scene, along with members of the Edo State Security Network, local vigilantes, and hunters, to protect the lives and property of the remaining passengers.
This was done to ensure the safety of the remaining passengers.
According to the police, “bush combing” operations have begun in an effort to rescue the victims and apprehend the kidnappers who are currently on the run.
