Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi, is sentenced to 11 years in prison for cyber fraud by a United States Central District Court in California.

Hushpuppi, who had already served two years in prison, faces another nine years behind bars in the United States.

The controversial social media celebrity was arrested in June 2020 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), along with 12 accomplices on suspicion of hacking, impersonation, scamming, banking fraud, and identity theft, and was later extradited to the United States for prosecution.

He was also accused of a large-scale fraud scheme in which he defrauded his victims in the United States, Qatar, the United Kingdom, and other countries.
