Senator Ahmed Sani Yerima, a former governor of Zamfara State, has entered the presidential race for 2023.
He told State House correspondents in Abuja on Friday that he had met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa.
According to him, he intends to run for president on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He went on to say that he would build on the efforts of the Buhari administration.
Speaking about his plans to bring Nigeria back on track, Yerima stated that he would concentrate his efforts on three critical areas of need: insecurity, poverty, and ignorance.

Yerima also stated that he would pick up the APC nomination and expression of interest forms right away.

“I’m here this afternoon to inform Mr. President of my intention to run for the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the 2023 elections.” Insha Allah, I’m going to buy my forms today and officially declare this afternoon.

“So, I have three points as well; to combat insecurity, poverty, and ignorance,” he said of his plans for Nigeria if elected.
