The Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris, has extended his condolences to his Jigawa State counterpart, Alhaji Umar Namadi, following a devastating tanker explosion that claimed over 100 lives.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Communication, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris Zuru, Governor Idris described the tragedy as a deeply painful and unavoidable disaster. He urged residents to find comfort in their faith, noting that “Allah gives and takes.”
Governor Idris emphasised that the people of Kebbi are mourning alongside Jigawa, particularly at a time when Nigeria needs the contributions of those who were lost. He also called on regulatory agencies to intensify public awareness campaigns, encouraging citizens to avoid uncoordinated rescue efforts during such incidents.
The governor offered prayers for the victims and their families, asking for strength to bear the loss.
The incident occurred when a petrol tanker exploded, killing more than 100 people and leaving many others severely injured.
