
The House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence had asked the Federal Government to purchase new aircraft for the two leaders.
However, the former Anambra State Governor, while citing the current economic hardship faced by the nation, said the move demonstrates government’s extreme insensitivity to citizens’ struggles.
Obi, in a series of posts on his official X handle on noted that with the rising insecurity, poverty, hunger and homelessness in the country, saying the move highlights the disconnect between the government and the people.
He described the decision as unacceptable, stressing that the situation in the country demands a more compassionate use of resources, prioritizing citizens’ welfare.
