Former Edo State deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has declared support for the opposition, All Progressives Congress, APC candidate, Monday Okpebholo, in the upcoming governorship election in the state.
Shaibu, who said the governorship race started with himself, Okpebholo, and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party claimed that the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP Asue Ighodalo, is an outsider.
While noting that the people of Edo state were over Godfatherism, he also claimed that the candidate of the PDP is a Godson to the incumbent Governor of the State, Godwin Obaseki.
Shaibu who said he has the right to support whosoever he chooses, stressed that his support for the opposition is not anti-party.
