In a national broadcast marking Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary, President Bola Tinubu shared encouraging news on the country’s fight against terrorism and banditry. He revealed that over 300 commanders of Boko Haram and other extremist groups have been eliminated in the past year.

Tinubu expressed optimism about winning the war on terror, citing restored peace in hundreds of Northern communities and the return of thousands of displaced citizens.

“We’re committed to ending this menace quickly,” he assured, promising increased food production and lower costs once peace is fully restored.
