President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of retired DIG Hashimu Argungu as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission.
The President also approved the appointment of Onyemuche Nnamani as Secretary and retired DIG Taiwo Lakanu as a member of the Commission.
The presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja.
He said the appointments are subject to confirmation by the Senate, while other members of the Commission will be appointed in due course.
Ngelale also revealed that President Tinubu approved the immediate appointment of Mohammed Sheidu as the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund.
The statement said the president has charged the new appointees to demonstrate absolute integrity, diligence, and patriotic zeal in the discharge of their functions for the overall wellbeing of the Nigeria Police and the country.
