President Bola Tinubu has vowed to ensure that the perpetrators of the recent attacks on the officers and men of Nigeria’s armed forces are fished out and made to face the wrath of the law.

The President handed down the directive while reacting to the killing of five soldiers at a military checkpoint in Aba, Abia State, by yet to be identified persons.

President Tinubu insisted that on no account should anyone, under any guise, have the audacity to kill state agents.

He warned that the federal government and the armed forces had the capacity to crush violent non-state actors, making the communities unsafe.

The president noted that the slain soldiers were on peacekeeping duty when they were murdered on Thursday, just two months after a similar incident occurred in Okuama in Delta state.

He maintained that these unwarranted barbaric and evil acts stand condemned and should never be condoned or tolerated in the country.

The president, therefore, ordered security agencies to fish out the masterminds and perpetrators of the Aba attack, as well as those imposing the sit-at-home directive, saying their action is nothing short of a treasonable offence.

The president, while extending his condolences to the families of the deceased soldiers, their colleagues and the leadership of the armed forces, urged security operatives on peacekeeping duty not to be discouraged by the recent attack.
