Women and youth in Rivers State have thrown their support behind Governor Sir Siminialayi Fubara, emphasizing his commitment to good governance. In a solidarity walk, residents of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) praised the governor’s leadership across the state’s 24 LGAs.
At a rally in Omoku, organized by Enforcers of Good Governance (EGG), the women highlighted Fubara’s focus on human capital development and called for empowerment programs to help young women escape prostitution. Sarah Fyneboy of EGG in ONELGA spoke passionately about the need for more inclusion and support for women.
Comrade Paul Akunta, EGG’s LGA Coordinator, noted past leadership failures in ONELGA but expressed hope in Fubara’s ability to bring change. He and the rally participants urged EGG leader Kingsley Ogu to run for ONELGA Chairmanship in the upcoming local elections, aiming to replicate the governor’s youth-friendly and effective governance at the local level.
