In a recent statement released by Southeast Development Peace Initiative, President Hon Vitus Okechi expressed strong condemnation towards the recent attack on soldiers in Okuama, Delta State.

Okechi emphasized the gravity of such assaults, labeling them as a direct affront to public order and the rule of law, surpassing even the severity of treason.

He urged for swift action against the perpetrators, stressing the imperative of setting an example to deter future acts of violence against security personnel.

Describing the attack as a threat to Nigeria’s existence, Okechi underscored the need to safeguard the unity and integrity of the nation, particularly highlighting the pivotal role of the military in maintaining cohesion.

He called upon all stakeholders to unite in denouncing such atrocities and to support the efforts of security operatives who risk their lives daily in service to the nation.

Okechi concluded by asserting that the killing of security personnel is not only barbaric and cruel but also intolerable in any civilized society, urging for collective action to ensure justice prevails.
