They also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s prompt condemnation of the attack and his administration’s resolve to protect citizens’ lives and properties.

The Senators acknowledged the resilience and bravery of the people of Borno State and the sacrifice of the security forces in fighting against terrorism. They also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting measures that provide better equipment, welfare, and morale for the security forces in their fight against terrorism.

“We stand in solidarity with the Northern Senators Forum, the government and people of Borno State, and all Nigerians in this time of grief,” the statement read. “We call on the government to provide adequate medical care and support to the survivors and to work with relevant agencies to enhance security measures. Together, we can build a safer, more peaceful Nigeria.”
