In a departure from its usual tone, the Supreme Court, led by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, deliberated on appeals challenging the outcomes of Nasarawa and Kebbi governorship elections.

The apex court granted judgment requests from both states after parties presented their cases.

The Court of Appeal’s reversal of the tribunal’s decision on Nasarawa’s Governor Abdullahi Sule was discussed, emphasizing legal discrepancies in the tribunal’s judgment.

Similarly, the Kebbi State dispute involving the PDP and its candidate, Aminu Bande, seeking to nullify the Court of Appeal’s decision upholding Governor Nasir Idris’ election, was highlighted.

The Supreme Court is set to communicate the judgment date.
